Due to its ongoing expansion activities, Samsung Electronics officially began construction on a US$ 1.4 billion production complex at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City. Samsung Construction with a total area of 70 ha, has begun in early 2015 and operations are scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2016. At this plant, Samsung will first make the latest generations of smart TVs, and then move on to other deluxe consumer electronic products, according to the South Korean executive.
In April 2015, ATAD Steel Structure Corporation was awarded by the main contractor – Samsung Engineering as steel structure partner with the scope of supplying, manufacturing and erection of the plant, with a total area of 18,180 m2.
Samsung’s investment projects are famous for their are high demands in terms of engineering skills and construction quality. Moreover, with only 100 days, the structural steel contractor has to complete all seven categories of works (EPS Building, Utility Building, Gate 2, Gate 4, Gate 5, Waste Treatment Building-1, waste treatment Building-2) with over 2,500 tons of steel.
