Terminal T3 – Tan Son Nhat Airport broke ground in December 2022. However, due to obstacles in land clearance, the main contract package for “Construction and Installation of Equipment for the T3 Passenger Terminal” didn’t commence until the end of August 2023. After nearly a year of construction for the main contract, the project has now completed 100% of the structural frame of the passenger terminal and is rapidly working on items such as installing steel components above to cover the terminal’s roof and connecting the electromechanical systems.
Mr. Le Khac Hong, Head of the Project Management Board for Terminal T3, stated that the installation of steel structures, glass walls, and roofing for the terminal is conducted in a staggered manner. The first group of workers installs the steel structure, while the second group proceeds with roof installation and glass wall assembly in tandem. Currently, the contractor has mobilized more than 100 workers to install the first layer of the roof, achieving about 60% of the total roof area.
The spatial truss structure of the roof has been fully installed.
The representative of the T3 terminal project management board stated that to install the steel components, the contractor must use various types of cranes ranging from 100 to 600 tons for construction.
The roof installation for T3 terminal is expected to be completed by February 2025.
Inside the terminal, workers are busy working on the electrical, air, water supply, and drainage systems. The pipe systems, technical boxes, and central control station have basically taken shape.

According to the investor’s calculations, it is anticipated that the electromechanical items and equipment installation will be completed in March and April 2025, respectively.
The elevated bridge in front of the terminal has finished its reinforced concrete segment. Once completed, this bridge will connect to the Trần Quốc Hoàn – Cộng Hoà junction.
This elevated bridge is responsible for channeling vehicle traffic to the various levels of the T3 terminal.
The T3 terminal at Tan Son Nhat Airport has one basement level and four above-ground levels, built over an area of 112,500 m². The project has a total investment of more than 10.9 trillion VND. Once completed, it will be a domestic passenger terminal with a capacity of over 20 million passengers per year, capable of accommodating all types of large aircraft. The T3 terminal will be connected to the airport by internal airport roads through a shuttle bus service. Traffic connectivity to the terminal will be facilitated by separate entry and exit bridges.
