After the success of Cat Bi Airport project, ATAD continue to be chosen as steel structure contractor of “ Passenger terminal – Da Nang International Airport project”. This is Da Nang City’s key project to host Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit 2017.
The project comprises three main components: an international passenger terminal, an overpass in front of the terminal and a parking area with a total investment of VND3.5 trillion (US$156 million). It is expected to start operation in the end of quarter I, 2017.
Steel structure is chosen as the structure of passenger terminal with outstanding advantages: quick erection, high flexibility and eco-friendly solution. Especially, the lounge roof structure has unique design with soft wavy shapes and its design is inspired by seagulls. This design is a big challenge with huge workloads and complex structure in limited time.
To overcome this challenge, ATAD applied a roofing solution characterized by steel space frames that helped to achieve the highly aesthetic and technical requirements. Despite hard conditions and unpleasant weather, ATAD erection team had worked nearly 24/24, 3 shifts per day to complete the project on time.
With great experiences and professional management, ATAD has completed the project in accordance with the schedule and met all the requirements of the investor. This excellent achievement also helps other joint-venture contractors to implement tasks on schedule and complete project before April 30, 2017.
