In line with the modern green building trend, Vietnam’s thermal power sector is increasingly adopting advanced environmental protection measures, technical innovations, and international operational standards. Among these developments, the Nhon Trach 3 & 4 thermal power plants stand out as pioneering examples. Located in Nhơn Trạch District, Đồng Nai Province, the project spans nearly 49 hectares and marks a major milestone as the first LNG-fired power plants in Vietnam.
As the steel structure contractor, ATAD is proud to contribute to this strategic national project with a total steel volume of approximately 2,000 tons. The scope includes high-specification structures such as:
- Gas and steam turbine buildings
- Heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) enclosures
- Pipe racks, auxiliary facilities, and technical buildings
- Specialized LNG-related structural systems
Green Power Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future
With a total installed capacity of 1,500 MW, Nhon Trach 3 & 4 are designed to operate on liquefied natural gas (LNG), employing next-generation gas turbine technologies. Once operational, the plants are expected to deliver around 9 billion kWh of electricity annually, supporting Vietnam’s energy security while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
This project is the first of many LNG-based developments anticipated in Vietnam’s energy roadmap, contributing to the country’s net-zero carbon commitment by 2050.
