On October 31, 2025, ATAD Steel Structure Corporation officially received the Verification Opinion Statement (VOS) issued by BSI Group – the British Standards Institution, confirming that the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) report for ATAD’s steel structure products fully complies with the requirements and principles of the international standard ISO 14067:2018 – Greenhouse gases: Carbon footprint of products.

This marks a significant milestone in ATAD’s ESG journey, demonstrating the company’s strong Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) capability and serving as clear evidence of environmental responsibility and production efficiency for every ton of steel manufactured at ATAD.

PCF – “The Measure of Responsibility and Efficiency”

Unlike the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory, which focuses on the organizational level, the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) measures emissions at the product level. The system boundary is established under the “Cradle to Gate” model — covering all processes from raw material extraction to the finished product leaving the factory. This approach ensures comprehensive, consistent, and traceable assessment of emission sources across the entire value chain.

Conducting a PCF for one ton of steel structure is the result of a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) process, including:

  • Analysis of material and energy flows throughout all production stages;
  • Calculation of CO₂ equivalent emissions by material type (steel, paint, welding materials, etc.);
  • Quantitative evaluation of environmental impacts at each stage of the product life cycle;
  • Identification of opportunities to improve processes and optimize resources for genuine emission reduction.

This allows ATAD to gain deeper insights into the emission intensity of each ton of steel structure, identify emission hotspots within the production chain, and implement scientifically grounded mitigation solutions.

The results, verified and independently confirmed by BSI Group, not only ensure the integrity and transparency of the data but also strengthen ATAD’s international credibility in the field of sustainable steel structures.

Transparency – Responsibility – Action

“Measure to understand – Be transparent to build trust – Act to make a difference.”

ATAD will continue to apply LCA and PCF as strategic tools in emission management, steering the company toward a greener, more transparent, and efficient steel production value chain for the future.
