The project is a community facility combining indoor sports amenities with spaces that support physical activities and local community engagement. With a focus on flexible space utilization and coordination across multiple building components, the steel structure plays a critical role in meeting functional requirements and ensuring efficient project delivery.

Engineering Coordination and Design Optimization

One of the key project requirements was to develop the steel structure design in close coordination with the architectural design and intended building functions. ATAD’s engineering team worked closely with contractors in the United States to review design inputs, address technical requirements and deliver accurate design documentation.

By implementing rigorous reviews from the early stages, ATAD identified potential interfaces between the steel structure and architectural elements, minimized design conflicts and established a reliable foundation for subsequent fabrication.

Precision Fabrication and Logistics Management Amid Severe Weather

Following design completion, the steel components were fabricated at ATAD’s manufacturing facilities in accordance with stringent technical requirements. Quality control was maintained throughout the manufacturing process, with inspections covering dimensional accuracy, weld quality, surface finish and packing specifications.

The project was executed in 2024, when North Carolina experienced severe impacts from Hurricane Helene. The storm struck the southeastern United States in late September 2024, bringing heavy rainfall, flooding and transportation disruptions across multiple areas. These conditions presented additional challenges for transportation planning and the timely delivery of materials to the construction site.

Through Alice’s Community Center and Gymnasium, ATAD further demonstrates its capability to deliver comprehensive steel structure solutions for the U.S. market, where stringent requirements for engineering, quality and supply chain reliability are essential to successful project execution.
