In response to voters, the Ministry of Transport confirmed that the timelines for the two projects must adhere to the established schedule. The target for the T3 terminal at Tan Son Nhat is set for April 30, 2025, with Long Thanh Airport to follow on September 2, 2026.

Regarding the T3 terminal project, the Ministry of Transport indicated that the completion date according to the contract is June 15, 2025. Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed that the timeline be shortened so that the project could be completed before April 30, 2025, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the reunification of the country.

Currently, the structural construction has been completed, and efforts are underway to finalize architectural work, construction, interior design, and equipment installation, with the overall project completion reaching approximately 70%.

The investor ACV, along with contractors and consulting units, are focusing all resources and reassessing the critical path, implementing solutions to shorten the timeline by two months compared to the contract, and are determined to achieve the project deadline by April 30, 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister.

For Long Thanh Airport, the objective is to complete the passenger terminal by August 31, 2026, to ensure it is operational by the celebration of National Day on September 2, 2026.

At the same time, the project will shorten the timeline by 3 months compared to the schedule in the contract for the runway construction, ensuring the technical operation of the runway before April 30, 2025, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reunification of the country.

During the implementation process, the Prime Minister – Head of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and key transport industry projects – has held regular steering committee meetings to review and expedite the progress.

The working group for the Long Thanh airport project has also been established, led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, with members including ministers and local leaders. This group regularly monitors the progress and addresses any obstacles during implementation, supporting and accelerating the project’s timeline.

The Ministry of Transport, acting as the standing agency, will be responsible for updating the progress of the component projects, consolidating challenges to report to the steering committee and working group for consideration and resolution.
