“Charitable work is not merely about material giving; more importantly, it is about sharing, inspiring faith, and strengthening the human spirit. At ATAD, the Board of Directors places the ‘heart’ at the core of all initiatives, with the aspiration that every employee has the opportunity to participate, to spread humanistic values, and to join hands in building an increasingly civilized and prosperous community and nation”.
Since my school days, I have had the opportunity to engage in various charitable initiatives, including supporting dialysis hospitals, organizing care programs for children in remote areas, and establishing small classes for workers’ children in industrial zones. These formative experiences naturally instilled in me a strong motivation to share and extend support to those facing hardship and adversity.
In 2017, when I joined ATAD, I realized that it was not only a professional environment for career development in the steel structure industry, but also a community united by shared values and a commitment to social responsibility. From modest charitable activities in the early days, the Company officially established the ATAD Charity Committee in 2018. Since then, it has become a meaningful component of ATAD’s corporate culture, connecting compassionate hearts and reinforcing the company’s social responsibility as a leading steel structure enterprise.
Over the years, ATAD has consistently implemented annual community-focused programs. Among the most notable is the scholarship initiative for children of employees facing financial hardship, providing sustained financial support through the completion of high school. Behind each child’s aspirations lie touching stories of resilience amidst challenging circumstances. Listening to their thoughts and witnessing the tangible impact of the program further strengthens my determination to expand its reach to local communities, wards, and communes in the coming years.
Programs such as “Warm Coats for Highland Children”, which delivered 300 winter jackets along with school supplies and financial assistance to students in remote mountainous regions, as well as relief efforts supporting communities affected by natural disasters and floods in Central Vietnam, the provision of clean water resources in Myanmar, and Lunar New Year gifts for the Long Khanh Blind Association (Dong Nai), stand as meaningful milestones in ATAD’s sustained philanthropic journey.
In addition, the Charity Committee has undertaken various other initiatives, including building compassion houses, visiting and offering gifts to pediatric dialysis patients at Children’s Hospitals, and supporting orphaned children in Thu Duc.
For me, each charitable activity is not merely a program, but a journey of experience – a space to listen, to empathize, and to deeply appreciate the value of sharing. Although members of the Charity Committee come from different departments with demanding professional schedules, they consistently strive to balance family responsibilities and work commitments, undeterred by distance, harsh weather, or logistical challenges. This collective spirit and resilience have become the driving force behind the widespread and sustainable impact of ATAD’s charitable endeavors.
The success of these initiatives is also attributed to the close collaboration across departments. The Advisory Board and Board of Directors continuously provide guidance and strategic direction; the Administration Department supports logistical preparation and gift arrangements; and the Marketing Department coordinates communication and planning efforts. Such integrated cooperation ensures that every program is implemented seamlessly and effectively.
Within each of us lies a compassionate heart, though opportunities to realize such values may not always be readily available. ATAD serves as a bridge, creating meaningful platforms for every member to contribute and to spread humanistic values. If I may share a message, I hope that ATAD members will dedicate more time to charitable activities, nurturing compassion and cultivating a positive outlook toward themselves and those around them.
In the coming years, the ATAD Charity Committee will continue to maintain and enhance its annual programs while introducing new, practical, and sustainable initiatives, such as tree planting and reforestation in landslide-prone areas, and organizing medical examinations and health screenings for ethnic minority communities in mountainous regions. Through each charitable journey, ATAD aspires to sow seeds of compassion, ensuring that the spirit of sharing continues to grow and endure over time.
