Colgate Factory – the first LEED silver green building in Vietnam
If we look at the outside of the building, the Colgate factory is like a normal pre-engineered steel building.
But this Colgate Factory has more special than that: it is certificated LEED green building (*). That means it has 25 percent lower energy use and reduces costs by 19 percent compared to the national average**. That’s so impressive!
* LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
** The data is based on the report of the average energy saving of LEED green building.
To help you learn more about this project, ATAD would like to introduce the few project features.
|Location:||My Phuoc 3 IP, Binh Duong|
|Client:||Colgate Palmolive Co, Ltd|
ATAD was awarded to be the steel structure partner with the scope of design, manufacturing and erection of the Colgate project. With huge experiences and professional management, ATAD has completed the project in accordance with the schedule and met all the requirements of investor and main contractor. This is also the first project in Vietnam which achieved LEED Silver.
When designing and constructing the project, ATAD built an innovative green building from the ground-up and reducing energy costs. The result:
+ Save up to 50% of water used for landscaping
+ 30% water use reduction
+ Daylight and views for 90% of spaces

Steel is the only material with an automatic minimum default value for recycled content in the LEED program. Unlike concrete, steel is 100% recyclable and is one of the world’s most reused products. In this project, ATAD applied an optimized PEB system that helps to reduce master schedule and respect all the highest quality, and safety requirements.
ATAD also applied COLORBOND® steel roofing for the roof system. In moderate to hot climates, it can reduce annual cooling energy consumption by up to 15% as compared to roofing materials of similar color with low solar reflectance.
